A slightly adventure tour taking you for a ride pass along the French Quarter, the historical Eiffel Bridge and through typical Vietnamese villages on the outskirts of Hanoi. Escaping the noise and busy of the capital, a “Hanoi Countryside Biking” tour will guidline you to bike about 30km with many interesting activities suitable for any age or group size.

At the time pre-arranged our guide welcome you at your hotel and then provide you your bike if the hotel convenience, otherwise he/ she will transfer you to bicycle parking place to choose suitable bikes for you. After you are ready with your bike we will start biking out of Hanoi. At first we get on Long Bien bridge, which was built in 1902 by the French architecter Gustave Eiffel. Before Vietnam’s independence in 1954, it was called Doumer Bridge, named after Paul Doumer – the Governor General of French Indochina form 1897 to 1902. Long Bien bridge was built over 100 years ago, it’s suffered from many attacks in Viet Nam war. Long Bien bridge is a strong evidence of the bravery of Vietnamese people again the enemy and deserve to be a symbol of Hanoi in the new era of peace and integration. As we crossing the bridge, we will stop for few minute to take a glance at the activities of local people, the beauty of Red River.
We will bike around 8km to enjoy countryside and reaching the Duong river, is a brand of ”Song Hong” or Red River, we will have time to take some nice photos, listen to our expert guide stories rice farming and rural life in Vietnam, understand about the real meaning of the name Hanoi.
Then cross Duong river in about 10 minutes through Duong bridge, keep biking 4 kilometer more to reach Co Loa, the former capital of Vietnam more than 2300 years ago with impressive towers, relics and ruins. It is a historical site in Viet Nam that’s full of myths and legends. The most importand legends is Co Loa citadel keep the country against foreign invaders Thuc Phan. The site has two layers of walls protecting the castle inside.
Co Loa is home to a number of ancient relics which have been unearthed by excavations activities throughout the years. Important artifacts include Dong Son style pottery and a large drum full of bronze items. These objects are extremely rare and therefore attracted people from all over the world because it’s a proof of the Dong Son culture which exist hundreds of years BC.
Today, the castle is fiercely protected by Vietnamese Government for archeological and tourism purpose. It is open to tourists and is a should come place if you are in the area around it. Despite being a historically site and architecturally beautiful temple, it is still not visited by many tourists, which means that you will have the freedom to explore it in privacy, feeling the truly countryside of Viet Nam.
On the way back, we will bike through green rice field, guava garden.
Having lunch (or dinner) with our famoust local food or special Pho (beef/chicken noodle with soup), then biking back to your hotel and end your trip.
